Where we came from
Our company was founded by Bill Smith in 1947. In the beginning he had one large format camera, a pony and a darkroom in his basement. With his charm and incredible business sense, he built a name that was renowned throughout northern California and his reputation and influence reached coast to coast. Some of his subjects included Ansel Adams, Queen Elizabeth, President Ford, President Carter and President Ronald Reagan.
Who we are now
Bill Smith Photography continues to be family owned and is carrying on the traditions and standards established by Bill. (We knew him as “Grandpa”.) We know he is here with us in spirit guiding us along the way. We have five Smiths in the business, but everyone here feels like one big family.
We have a passion for photography and the images we create. We are a full-range photography studio and print shop. We believe in a high quality product at a price that allows us to sleep at night. More importantly, we believe in taking care of you, our customer. We are also happy that we haven’t worked out of a basement in over 50 years. 
Where we are going
We are voracious learners. We are constantly educating ourselves on the latest techniques to enhance the many layers of knowledge and foundation gifted to us by Bill Smith himself. Bill Smith Photography doesn’t follow the trends, we like to set them. We enjoy being a partner in our community and invite you to help us in our quest for constant improvement. We hold our responsibility as creator and caretaker of your memories in the highest regard and thank you for considering Bill Smith Photography. We look forward to what we can accomplish together.
